trash the dress shoot with exotic birds!

why yes! let’s do it! -tif

shekar is a bird magnet!

she got “tasted” by this flamingo several times, and has the welts to prove it. -tif

Oh man! i love the pic! but,

is it me….

or is that flamingo giving her the eyes of death? – jonathan

so after the flamingos, we headed over to visit with a cuddly little vulture.

truthfully, she was more personable than the flamingos.

her trainers say she’s just like a puppy. – tif

a puppy who eats raw flesh, has razor sharp talons,

and would pull the spine from your flesh if you turned your back on it!!! – jonathan

she kept landing on poor shekar, so the trainers gave her a glove. -tif

words can not begin to describe how jealous i am here!

i want a bird of prey in the worst way.

maybe we can do a trash the photographer shoot here some day.

you can cover me with raw meet and throw me in there.

that should make for some sweet photos. – jonathan

the trainer brought us some bones to lay around the floor.- tif

are the bones supposed to deter her from pecking at your skull? – jonathan

It was a lot of fun getting to know sarah and joe.

I’ve crossed paths with them before since we go to the same church ;) – jonathan

yeh, sarah has even had scarlett in her class, in the kids ministry. -tif

those are some eyes you got there sarah. – jonathan

sarah and joe got married earlier in the summer, but it rained on their wedding day.

They really wanted some photos at the columns.

So we shot there first, plus they live right around the corner. :) -tif

then had a seamstress cut it into pieces and sew it back together

this is one of scarlett’s favorites. she says jenn looks like the little mermaid.

so i decided to start the post with jenn as the little mermaid. -tif

:) yeah she kinda does look like a mermaid, but that’s okay i think ;) – jonathan

…now back to the non- cartoon inspired photos.

after a long night at the reception, jenn and cecar woke up at 6am, so we could shoot at sunrise!-tif

hey i woke up at 6am too? where is my shout out ;) – jonathan

the water in the bahamas had this amazing teal green color to it!- jonathan

after the sun was up, we all moved over to the “prop bar” aptly named.

there was a plain sticking out of the other side.

but this side was warm and sunny yellow. -tif

i like propellers.- jonathan

lovin the laughter and good times we had with you while getting wet and sandy- jonathan

this was the first time jenn and cesar actually got into the water,

i’m not saying it was warm, but it could have been alot worse. -tif

once jenn and cesar were thoroughly soaked, we decided to go swimming.

we brought along a 35mm underwater camera just for fun, and had no idea how these would turn out. -tif

just generally ruin their wedding clothes because we asked them to!

i can’t say shooting with film is easy. I’m so used to the instant gratification and shot confirmation of digital.

…not to mention, i had no clue as to what i was shooting. :)-tif

every time i saw i coconut tree i kept thinking to myself.

“i wonder how bad it would hurt if a coconut falls on your head, and how often does that happen?” -jonathan

I’ve heard that 150 people die every year from coconuts, but with further investigation i found..

it’s estimated that over a four-year period five deaths in his hospital’s service area were related to coconut palm trees

(including climbers falling out of them). -tif

as with many wedding blog posts, i just don’t know where to begin talking about this amazing couple.

I could start off by saying that they both look like models,

or maybe i’ll just start by saying that dan and jesenia

have devoted there lives to those living in the garbage dumps of Nicaragua.

i think these were the strangest shoes i have ever seen.

i’m not sure jesenia knew i was taking her picture while she was in the stall but i’m opportunistic. -tif

ummm.. gross. but i do have to admit they were some great flip flops- jonathan

this was the biggest veils we have ever photographed.

we had a lot of fun with it on the “day after” shoot- jonathan

this was also the first time we have ever shot a wedding that had translator for the bride.

we love the strip in pittsburgh. so, we took daniel and jesenia out on this super windy day.

being from Nicaragua, jesenia handled it pretty well.

…sorry again we didn’t have any snow, i know you were looking forward to it. -tif

it was crazy windy that day. It wasn’t all that cold. but the wind just bit pretty hard.

we left the car running the seats heated and heater blowing full force

so that in between locations she could thaw out- jonathan

this was our first trash the dress shoot ever! i am super stoked about how it turned out.

I am so stoked that i think i broke a few blogging rules.

there are quite a few shots that are only slightly different.

i couldn’t decide which ones to keep out of the blog

I hope you two love these photos as much as tiff and I do – jonathan

we shoot down in the strip district of pittsburgh pretty often and i came across these tires on our last shoot.

i instantly knew that we would have to put joanna and andrea in or on them some how – tif

So instead of bringing her husband, andrea brought her best friend from high school along. -tif

having two friends together helped keep the energy up. so that rocked! – jonathan

i love how different they ended up being. when i was editing it felt like two shoots, i guess it kind of was.

we wanted them to each have a separate set of photos. andrea is classic and cute… -tif

I want to start naming my favorite pictures on this shoot, but…. yeah i would have like 10 favorites – jonathan

i helped hoist her up and i thought i popped her back until i noticed that her dress almost fell off of her!

not only did i rip her dress i somehow managed to smack her face right into the filthy garage door thing

i promise, this is the most damage that has ever happened on a shoot with us – jonathan

i walked over, and andrea has a huge purple/black mark on her cheek.

luckily she had that sweet dress to clean herself up with. -tif

and hanging it somewhere. or at least updating my screen saver with it!
